Jake Heil

Good morning members,

Tuesday September 17, 2014 the Two Hundred Club met with Leigh Heil, wife of Savannah Fire Battalion Chief Tod Heil who lost his long and hard battle with Brain Cancer, he was only 48. Leigh was presented with a one time contribution. Tod was a tremendous leader who always inspired those he worked with to always keep in tip top shape and never settle for anything but excellence. I am blessed to have met Tod and know how passionate he was towards family, his profession, and community. Tod received the departments highest honor as Fire Officer of the Year. Tod leaves behind a loving wife of 23 years and three loving children, Parker, McKinley, and Jake.

Attached is a photo of Tod and Leigh’s son Jake at 6 years of age. Jake, as you can see, is extremely proud of his dad as he wears Tod’s Fire gear at Station 2. Jake is 12 years old today. I am humbled to have the opportunity to represent each and every one of you in serving those who care for us. Thank you for your continued support and God bless.

Warmest regards,

Mark Dana
